In Memoriam :

On August 17, 2007 my sister Pam Gordon lost her battle with non-skin related Squamous Cell Carcinoma.  Pam had just celebrated her 51st birthday at the end of March.  This site is now in her honor.  She will be dearly missed, and remembered with much fondness as an incredibly strong woman and a very generous person.  The world will be the poorer for her loss.

Crystal Palace Yarns

recently gifted

Scarves From The Heart

enough yarn to make

3 of each of the patterns

they also generously

allowed us to post.

Look for the Zig Zag

and Aran Print

knit patterns on

our pattern page.

We appreciate the support

of companies, and people

like the folks at

Crystal Palace Yarns.

Thank you, Susan!

We've received some of

the scarves made with

Tell 10!

"Tell 10" campaign - when you

read this we would like to ask

you to share our link with 10

of your friends and family

members (more if you will), especially those who

knit and crochet.

If just one of those you tell

will make a scarf,

I'm sure we could add

another cancer center, or a homeless shelter

to our list of recipients.

"We Can" weekend

I'm sorry there isn't room

We Need Your Help!

We are currently working toward a goal of 125 scarves by August 30, 2008 to be used for the upcoming September "Gathering of Friends" event.

We currently have enough feminine scarves, but less than half the number of masculine scarves we need to provide a scarf to each cancer survivor present at the gathering.

Have you seen our

pattern page?

Watch for more new patterns to come.  If you're a designer we are always interested in helping get your pattern out to the public eye.  If you'd like

to have your pattern

posted for use in making

scarves for charity

please email me

Copyright always stays with the designer, and we ask all our crafters to honor your copyright.

We also have new links there to help you find the perfect pattern for your yarn.

We have now donated

over 375 scarves

to cancer patients!

Can you make a scarf for charity every 3 months?  If you can, please email me and sign up for our "Stitchers for the Seasons" group.

We continue to need more masculine style scaves.  I know with summer coming it may be difficult to come up with light weight scarves in a style appropriate for men, so look at some of the new fibers for inspiration in addition to summer colors.

Our fall theme is "In Honor of my Father (or brother, uncle, etc.)

Scarves continue to arrive in our new P.O. box which is a wonderful thing.  Thank you to all our wonderful donors.

Summer has definitely arrived in Northern California and the heat of summer has caused many of us to seek cool places to crochet and knit.  Already it is time to start thinking about scarves for the fall Camping weekend to be held in October.

We've decided to ask for masculine scarves for this event as we get an abundance of feminine scarves each time we put out a call for more scarves. How about making one to honor your father, brother, or other important male figure in your life?

We now have a Scarves From The Heart group on Ravelry

If you are a knitter or crocheter and haven't yet signed up for this new web community you may want to check it out.
